National Congress on Laser Processing for Industry (JNPLI) - 22-23 June 2010 - Bordeaux
The 2010 edition of JNPLI took place at the University of Bordeaux 1 on 22 and 23 June. This international industrial conference was organised by the Club Laser et Procédés (CLP) in partnership
with the ‘ALPhA Route des Lasers’ Competitiveness Cluster and the ALPhANOV Technology Centre. The event was sponsored by Amplitude Systèmes and was supported by the Société Française d’Optique.
The first day was devoted to ‘innovative technologies and processes for laser micromanufacturing’, and the second day was dedicated to ‘laser in the aviation and space industries’.
The 2010 edition was notable for its increased number of international participations and an expanded booth area which was more substantial than in previous years. Indeed, the 118 participants
who came from 9 European countries and North America, were able to attend 26 conferences including 8 by renowned foreign speakers. These conferences, which were simultaneously translated in
French and English, enabled us to discover the latest technological developments in the fields of micro applications, marking, soldering and direct manufacturing. Photonics21 the European
technology platform for photonics was also presented by the President of the European Laser Institute. The second session was particularly notable for the technical presentations from three major
European aviation manufacturers - Airbus, Dassault Aviation and Turboméca.
At the same time, 16 exhibitors presented their products and skills in a convenient environment which stimulated exchanges between participants. In addition, participants were able to visit the
ALPhANOV Centre and to attend technological demonstrations on ‘3D laser micromachining’, ‘3D and thermal imaging’, ‘Terahertz Imaging’ and ‘Fiber laser components’. A visit to the Falcon F7X and
Rafale aircraft assembly line at the Dassault Aviation facility in Mérignac was another highlight for the participants during the morning of 24 June. The gala evening at the Château Pape Clément
also contributed to the success of this year’s annual meeting.
The success of the 2010 edition of the JNPLI confirms CLP’s leading position as national coordinator in the field of industrial laser processes. The organisers intend to increase the
international dimension of the event for future editions.
Some key figures:
118 participants (56% manufacturers and 30% international),
9 countries were represented,
16 exhibitors, 26 conferences.
